MEET DR. BALDWIN
Dr. Hilary Baldwin is a board-certified dermatologist in private practice in Brooklyn, N.Y. and an associate professor at the State University of New York, Downstate in Brooklyn, N.Y. She has a particular interest in scarring, especially keloid and hypertrophic scars, and has also published and lectured extensively on scarring and other dermatology topics.
After receiving her master’s degree in microbiology from Boston University, Dr. Baldwin spent two years as a research associate at Harvard Medical School. She then returned to Boston University, where she received her medical degree. Dr. Baldwin completed her medical internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn, and then moved to New York, where she completed her dermatology residency and served as chief resident at New York University Hospital. After becoming board certified in dermatology, Dr. Baldwin joined the faculty at the State University of New York Downstate, where she served as vice chair of the Department of Dermatology for 15 years.
Dr. Baldwin lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. with her husband and children. Despite maintaining a busy practice, she takes time to work with media to educate people about skin care topics, including acne, scars and stretch marks. She has been featured on broadcast news programs including The View and The Early Show, as well as in print publications including The New York Times, Essence and Teen Vogue.
Dr. Baldwin enjoys working with Mederma® as the expert advisor, a role that enables her to combine her interest in scar treatment with her desire to educate people about skincare topics.
